In Côte d'Ivoire, two qualities of pineapple are produced and marketed: the smooth Cayenne pineapple and the MD2 (Extra-Sweet) pineapple. There are two production periods. The high production period runs from September to January and the low production period runs from February to August. Regardless of the quality required, pineapple is exported according to the following specifications: - Packaging: Packages/Cartons of approximately 12 Kg each, - Type of container: 40' refrigerated containers, - Number of cartons: Approx. 1,600 cartons per container, - Delivery time: 30 days after firm order.
