Silk carpet designer and manufacturer, Avak Shirinian was born in Bunyan, a small town of Kayseri. His father originally from Zara, Sivas. On 1920, after the war he moved Bunyan. Avak was the fifth of six children. At the time Puzant 'Usta', a master weaver in Kayseri. Was a good friend of the father, who sent his eldest son fot apprenticeship.
